Navarro put ambitions before country -Varela

PANAMEÑISTA presidential candidate Juan Carlos Varela said Friday, December 27, that Juan Carlos Navarro (PRD candidate) put his ambitions above the interests of the country.

The comment came when Varela was asked the reasons why the PRD could not make an opposition alliance ahead of the 2014 elections .

"I 've always left the door open … in the last seven days I received messages that Mr Navarro was willing to support this alliance , this vision of state, and country, Exploratory meetings took place, he showed interest but eventually made another decision … He put his ambitions above the interests of the country , but that is his choice … you have to ask him . "
