Elections will be transparent – Electoral Tribunal

THE PRESIDENT of the Electoral Tribunal ( TE) , Erasmo Pinilla has again assured that the general elections of May 4 , will bTe clean and transparent.

Pinilla statements were, Tuesday February 25 during the signing of a cooperation agreements between the TE and the Council of Rectors of Official and Private Universities of Panama.

Through the agreement, the colleges help the TE with the recruitment process of students and teachers as members of electoral boards, to exercise functions related to temporary receipt of votes, their counting of the same and the proclamation of the winning candidates in the upcoming elections.
" That the rectors of universities operating in the isthmus as trainers and disseminators of ethical values , to commit their participation and pledging support to the Electoral Tribunal , predicts that there will be no trick which tarnishes the elections next May," Pinilla said.

The TE will continue to be an impartial judge responsible for its honor as it continues to grow as the most important pillar of democratic justice said Pinilla.
President Martinelli and his spokesman have been casting doubts on the company responsible for processing the votes. Although it had done the job for the last 12 years, including Martinelli’s election.
