Renewed search for missing girls comes up empty

THE FIRST day of the intensified search in Boquete,Chiriqui, for two missing young Dutch women, aided by a team of tracking experts and dogs from Holland, ended on Tuesday, May 27 with no results.

Four teams climbed The Pianist, in Boquete,  in search of Lisanne Freon, 22, and Kris Kremer , 21, who disappeared April 1.

The quest involves members of the Red Cross, Police, Fire Department and National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc), as well as the Dutch specialists and search dogs who arrived in the country on Sunday.
Each team was made up of 10 people and three dogs. The operation began at 8.30 am and went on until 4 pm.The Dutch specialists intend to stay in Panama until June 4. During the 10 days the search will focus on several mountain trails.

The two girls arrived in Boquete on March 29 and were reported missing by a tour guide, who went to their hotel to pick them up and it was discovered they had not slept there the previous night. Their families have posted a reward for information
