Corruption complaints against Vice-chancellor and deputy elect
THE FORMER human resources director in the Foreign Ministry, has presented a complaint for abuse of authority and corruption against Mariela Vega, the CD deputy-elect for the 7-2 circuit, and Vice Chancellor Mayra Arosemena.
The complaint was filed Wednesday, May 28, by Milagros Córdoba.
It was filed with the Public Ministry, directed by Ana Belfon. In the document, Córdoba accuses Vega and Arosemena of colluding to falsify records to ensure that Vegas was eligible to run for office.
Córdoba has been accused by President Ricardo Martinelli of filing the complaint because she was fired from her job. But Córdoba said that she quit her job and that the complaint is not political.
Vega said that the complaint is a "political attack" to keep her from taking office. Vega will be represented by attorney Silvio Guerra.
