Copa opens new maintenance center at Tocumen
Copa Airlines inaugurated its new $15 million specialized technical maintenance hangar at Tocumen International Airport on Wednesday, July 10.
The center will add 200 additional jobs to the thousand already employed in the maintenance area while cutting costs for the airline which previously had 90% of its maintenance done outside of the country. Some 100 jobs are foreseen in the first year and the rest in the second phase.
President, Laurentino Cortizo who attended the inauguration ceremony, described the venture as “tremendous news for the country.”
