Shake up in Attorney Generals office

THE PROMISED shake up by the new  Attorney General  came Thursday, January 15 with the  announcement of the appointment of three new anti-corruption prosecutors.

Rolando Rodríguez, secretary general of the Attorney General’s Office, said that the new prosecutors are Vielka Broce, Zuleyka Moore and Ruth Maicel. They will replace Nahaniel Mugas, Marta Goméz and Lizzett Chevalier. Additionally, Tania Sterling has been reassigned within the agency, from the fourth anti-corruption office to the first. The new prosecutors are said to have track records showing diligence and results

Rodriguez said the changes, ordered by new Attorney General Kenia Porcell, were made to improve teamwork and productivity within the agency said La Prensa.

He said that there has also been a change in procedures that will place the four prosecutors directly under the control of the Attorney general and himself.

They will be assisted by the departments.of transactions, litigation and analysis.
