Interpol red alert for ex Colombia spy chief who hid in Panama
Interpol has issued a red alert for former Colombian Security Director Maria del Pilar Hurtado who was given asylum in Panama while ex-president Martinelli’s security committee was introducing its own spy network.
She is wanted in Colombia for allegedly ordering illegal wiretaps on judges, journalists and opposition polititicians.
Interpol said Hurtado is wanted for conspiracy, abuse of public office, unlawful violation of private communications and other charges.
She had been living in Panama under asylum, but the Supreme Court ruled last July that her asylum was not valid. Colombia has unsuccessfully tried to extradite her on two occasions.It is not known if she is still in Panama reports La Prensa.
