Arrest warrants for 4 linked to jailed judge, money laundering probe
ARREST WARRANTS have been issued for four men who have flouted instructions to appear beforePanama’s Organized Crime Prosector part of the money laundering investigation of jailed former Supreme Court Justice Alejandro Moncada Luna.
Sources revealed that warrants have been issued for Óscar Iván Rivera, of Omega Engineering, Francisco Feliú, of PR Solutions, and Costa Ricans Mauricio Ortiz Quezada and Claudio Poma Murialdo, of Constructora P&V, reports
Omega Engineering received a contract to build a courthouse in West Panama while Moncada Luna served as chief justice in 2012 and 2013.
According to investigations by the public prosecutor, thecompany deposited money to accounts linked to the former judge.
Constructora P&V has been linked to Ricardo Calvo, a friend of Moncada Luna who has fled the country.
Oyganized Crime Prosecutor Nahaniel Murgas is also investigating Nicolas Corcione, who has so far avoided questioning and is sheltering behind due to his status as a board member of the Panama Canal Authority
