Super 99 manager questioned over backpack scam

THE PURCHASING manager of Super 99, Roberto Brin,  is the latest Ricardo Martinelli linked person to be called in to answer questions from  the Second Anti-Corruption Prosecutor about the purchase of school bags in the previous administration through the National Assistance Program (PAN).

On Monday  November 16  he arrived to give statements to the prosecutor

Brin, who spoke to media during a break from questioning, said: This is linked to something that really is not for me, and they are investigating a number of things that are not mine, but I’m giving statements “

Pablo Ruiz Obregón, legal representative of Hailing Corporation, SA, and Vafepa, SA, facing charges in the case, in previous statements, linked Brin to the acquisition of backpacks.

In his statement, Ruiz Obregon said the manager at the Super 99 was a member of the companies and together with businessman Roberto Luzcando received 25% of the profits.

Evidence has also pointed the finger at Mario Martinelli, brother of former President Ricardo Martinelli.
