4 armed robbers snatch $100,000 from Social Security

Four men armed men  stormed into  a Social Security collection agency (CSS) on Monday, November 30 and left with at least $100,000.

The agencies are at their busiest on month end when  businesses deposit their CSS  payments for employees.

The office in  Ojo de Agua, San Miguelito  was the target. According to police reports the attackers entered the offices at about 2:30 pm when  there were fewer staff on duty   and stole the money  accumulated from transactions in recent days.
Witnesses reported that the attackers arrived in a red car and held up all the staff  all present and two  private security agents One of the received a blow to the head.
Tthree other people, were stripped of their belongings.
The robbers were believed to have fled in a  waiting taxi.
CSS  spokesperson Jorge Samudio, reported that it they were carrying out a calibration of the  cash boxes to determine  the exact amount stolen.
