Closed door meeting on Assembly crime links

PRESIDENT, Juan Carlos Varela, and National Assembly, president Ruben De Leon met behind closed doors  on Friday night, Jan.8  night to discuss the recent linking of   Legislative staff to organized crime

The meeting lasted two hours, and   De Leon  said they  shared “sensitive” information. “Some administrative measures will be taken, and there will coordination on the issue of security of the National Assembly with the security agencies of the State,” he said.

He said  also that changes will be made in the process of recruiting staff to work  in  the Assembly reports La Prensa.

The president of the Assembly reiterated that deputies have been asked to return the license  plates they are using and have been told that these benefits are not transferable to any other citizen.
