47 charged in Costa Rica for Panama car thefts

A HIGH END   car   stolen in Panama, may not  return to the streets of the city, even with a new license plate and paint job.

A network of car thieves who smuggle stolen  luxury vehicles into Costa Rica  and re-sell them  with new local plates  has just been dismantled  according to   Judicial Investigation authorities of Panama’s northern neighbor.
In a raid in the area of Trinidad de Moravia, Costa Rica, police found  stolen vehicles, including cars and SUVs  from  Panama.

Prosecutors are charging  47, gang members with   “receiving,  theft and fraud,” according to a statement from the institution.

After stealing cars in Panama, the network allegedly falsified the papers of the vehicles and placed themplates of Costa Rica, and later sell them.
