$3.7 million for new judicial program

PANAMA’S PUBLIC Ministry  will get a $3.7 million injection of funds to  assist in the  implementation of the accusatory penal system into the first judicial district.

The National Assembly approved the  transfer on Tuesday, August 30. Ministry Secretary General Rolando Rodriguez said that the system, which is forecast to speed up the country’s lumbering judicial stucture would be implemented by the end of the week.

The funds will be used to hire staff to handle the caseload created by the new system.

It will also be used for training and equipment.
