Frustrated patients block highway

THE FRUSTATIONS of Social Security patients    boiled over on Wednesday  October 12 as they moved to  block Transistmica  close to the Social Security Hospital Complex.

They were protesting  the lack of drugs at the facility.

Police were on the scene negotiating with the patients to exit the highway as a major traffic jam developed.

In recent days patient organizations have called for a greater commitment on the part of authorities to address drug shortages at the facility.

In some cases, certain drugs have not been available for more than a year.
