Metro line 2, construction 24% complete

WORK ON  line 2 of Panama’s Metro is 24 percent complete.

President Juan Carlos Varela made the announcement Friday, October 14,  during an inspection of the start  of the work on the headquarters of the Metro in Tocumen.

The president was accompanied by Metro chairman  Roberto Roy.

Varela said that construction  works will be completed in December 2017, while it will take another  addition year for the electromechanical works to be completed  and for trains to be tested.

Line 2  will have  16 stations, with  11 already under  construction.

Workers have installed 60 of the 1,648 U beams.

The second line of the Metro will be 21 kilometers from San Miguelito to Nuevo Tocumen.
