Colombia-Panama trade dispute continues

AS PANAMA celebrates its  historic separation from Colombia, that country’s Minister of Trade, is making plans to visit   to discuss the current trade dispute between the two countries.

Maria Claudia Lacouture will travel to Panama November 22 .

The appointment was confirmed by Vice Minister of Commerce Manuel Grimaldo.

“We are not a state of Colombia. We are an independent country. We are asking that they reflect on the measures they have taken,” he said.

President Juan Carlos Varela said that the trade dispute will be discussed in the Cabinet Council meeting Tuesday November 8.
