Consumer debt up on cards, cars and loans

CREDIT CARD debt in Panama jumped $35 million during the first two months of the year.

The Superintendency of Banks reports that currently, customers have just over $2 billion in credit card debt.

Consumer loans have also grown during 2017 with the debt at $10.347 billion, up $150 million since  December 2016.

Auto loan debt as of December 2016 was $662 million, $16 million more than at the beginning of the year.
