Maple Leaf Tulipmarks Canadas 150th birthday

TULIP  TIME  in Ottawa is  always a special spring celebration with thousands of tulip bulbs donated by Holland each year since the end of World War II as a thank you to  Canada’s capital for being home to the Dutch Royal Family during the German occupation and for the Canadian army’s role in liberating Holland.

This year, to mark Canada’s 150th birthday the display is enlivened by a specially developed white tulip, emblazoned with  a maple leaf, that is the symbol on the Canadian flag.
