Trump organization pressures Panama president

THE TRUMP Organization  intends to intervene  with the Panamanian State  in a dispute between Trump Panama Hotel Management LLC., and Orestes Fintiklis for the control of the hotel that once carried the surname of the president of the United States.

The organization, through its lawyers in Panama,  Britton & Iglesias, sent to Varela on March 23 a letter, reminding him of the existence of the Law of October 12, 1983, which approved the agreement between Panama and the United States (EU) on investment protection.

The letter , copied to the heads of other state organs,  asked him to interpose his good offices “to avoid damages derived from this process already attributed  not to the counterpart, but to the Panamanian State by virtue of a clear violation of the protections of the treaty, specifically by  a denial of justice (…) “, reports La Prensa

On March 5, a court conducted an investigation of a  seizure that rousted Trump Panama Hotel Management from the hotel and its administration.

That day.  The Fintiklis  group  erased the Trump  name and, later, renamed  the hotel  The Panama Grand Bahia

La Prensa reports that it  consulted the United States Embassy in Panama and was told  that “Matters related to the Trump organization are remitted directly to the White House.”

What until now had been a commercial and private dispute between entrepreneurs has become a subject of public relevance, says La Prensa
