VP defends Presidents World Cup jaunt

Panama’s  vice president and chancellor, Isabel Saint Malo de Alvarado has rushed to the defense of the multiple  trips  of President, Juan  Carlos  Varela, the most traveled  president  in the country’s history, with a trip to Russia pending and Australia lurking I the wigs each one of the

According to Saint Malo, who has been on many of the jaunts,   the fruits of these diplomatic tours have been seen.

She said  that with regard to the visit that Varela will make to Russia, during the World Cup, there are some companies from that country that are interested in establishing themselves in Panama.

The president’s planned trip was widely criticized when it was revealed that $100,000 was transferred to the Panama Embassy in Russia for the trip.

The Foreign Ministry published a management report on  Thursday, May 31, listing  the achievements that have been obtained in the past 4 years and the advances in diplomatic cooperation that have been made had with different countries. The publication comes as the t parties are girding up for the upcoming elections.

To date, the official list of the people who are going to travel with the president has not yet been defined, nor the date of an announced meeting with President Vladimir Putin.
