OPINION: Replacing party hacks with professionals

Infrastructure and state projects in Panama lack serious studies
that allow calculating with moderate accuracy its final cost. The model adopted by the Government. for its development, by contractors, always ends with expensive modifications to the detriment of the State. It is urgent that the Government hire suitable professionals and leave politicking when making appointments,
It is obvious that we would save millions of dollars if we had specialized personnel. But, in addition, the politicians of the day would ease the growing suspicions generated by the rising cost of these projects, since it is proven that these addenda have also served for bad management, and of this, there is abundant and shameful evidence. Politicians must be diligent with the use of money that does not belong to them.

It is very likely that the management of the finances of their business reveals a lot of how they manage our taxes. But it can more than clientelism They fill the governmental apparatus with people whose only credential is to be a member of the political party in power, without the necessary knowledge for the positions they play at.  It is seen that efficiency in the State has never been a priority …LA PRENSA.
