Panama consular official investigated

Panama’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs is investigating an incident involving Panama’s Consul in Hamburg, Germany “, and analyzing sanctions that apply.

Jennifer Champsaur , was involved in a transit event in the German city. A Government statement said:  “The Foreign Ministry received a few weeks ago a communication from the German Government about an incident involving a Panamanian official in Hamburg, with which the institution began a process of investigation and documentation of what happened. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs analyzes the measures and sanctions that correspond to the case, in strict adherence to national and international standards, “.

 

The Ministry  said  that: “the Government of Panama is committed to safeguarding the image of the country abroad and the professionalism of its diplomatic corps.”

Before being sent to Hamburg, Champsaur served as Deputy Minister of Tourism of Panama, where she earned a salary of $4,000  and another $2,000 in expenses reports La Prensa

 

The Consulate of Panama in Hamburg belongs to the the  Maritime Authority of Panama, and handles ship registrations, payment of annual taxes and licenses, in addition to passport procedures, among others.
