Panama firefighters attend 28,376 emergencies in 8 months

  

Panama firefighters were called out 28,376 emergencies until August .

Rescues to people involved in car accidents, Africanized bees, structural fires and grasslands led the way with  6,830 reports of Africanized bees, 6,647 grassland fires, 2,994 rescues of people in car accidents,  followed by 1,374 electrical damage and 1,323 burning garbage.

There were 798 calls for fallen trees, , gas leaks 709, structural fires 400 and 357 vehicle fires 357.

Firefighters carried out some 494 animal rescues, have supported 104 fuel spills, 68 fire reports and have assisted 58 people mostly children who have been locked in their homes or in vehicles.

March it was the most active month with 5,753 calls.
