New Supreme Court judge and four substitutes seated
María Eugenia López Arias took office as a new Supreme Court judge at the presidential palace on Thursday. December 5.
The new magistrate, who was ratified on Wednesday, December 4 at the plenary session of the National Assembly, took office as chief magistrate of the Second Criminal Chamber before President Laurentino Cortizo, and Vice president José Gabriel Carrizo.
Judge López Arias is the only chief magistrate who takes possession, since magistrate Jerónimo Mejía, whom she replaces, has finished his period.
