High tides alert
The National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) has issued a prevention notice (surveillance and monitoring) due to the maximum tides that will be in the Panamanian Pacific, in the coming days.
These tides, which will reach about 16.9 feet (15.5 meters), began from 4:54 a.m. Sunday, February 28 until 7:02 a.m. on Wednesday, March 3.
The National Emergency Operations Center warned that, if heavy rains and peak tides coincide, flooding could occur, especially in the country’s coastal areas.
