Boris Johnson called health minister “totally useless” – former aid
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was the target on Wednesday of a new shocking accusation by his former adviser Dominic Cummings, who claimed, presenting as evidence a screenshot, that he had called his Health Minister “totally useless”.
Cummings, the controversial mastermind of the Brexit campaign in 2016 and until November a highly influential “special adviser” to Johnson, declared war on his former boss a few months ago. And during a marathon parliamentary appearance at the end of May, he harshly criticized the management of the pandemic by his executive.
He described Johnson as “unfit” but especially attacked the Minister of Health, Matt Hancock, whom he accused of having “lied” on several occasions and of whom he considered should have been “dismissed.”
Hancock denied the allegations and Cummings has since been criticized for failing to provide evidence for his claims.
But in a lengthy blog post on Wednesday, the controversial former adviser posted a screenshot of a March 27, 2020, WhatsApp conversation with “Johnson Boris.”
In it Cummings blames “MH” for the delay in the promised increase in Covid-19 tests. The other person responds “total useless fucker “
Asked about it, Johnson’s spokesman refused on Wednesday to respond “to every accusation” and reiterated his full confidence in Hancock: “the prime minister has worked very closely with the health minister and will continue to do so,” he said.
