Panama researcher wins “women in science” award
Dafni Yeniveth Mora Guerra, a researcher at the Technological University of Panama (UTP), received the L’Oréal-Unesco national prize “For women in science” 2021 on Tuesday morning, December 14.
Mora, who has a PhD in Civil and Industrial Engineering and also studied at the University of Calabria, Italy, was the leader of the research project entitled “Laboratory specialized in passive energy solutions and comfort in buildings”.
For that project he will receive 10,000 dollars. In addition, local capacities will be generated for the evaluation of passive and low-consumption techniques in energy solutions.
According to the National Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation, the project arises from the “need to have equipment in the country that allows the measurement and monitoring of different energy variables in situ , in order to complement the measurements made with the different sensors ”.
