Third woman arrested in child sexual exploitation swoop
A third woman was arrested in Panama Oeste for her alleged link to a network that engaged in child sexual exploitation.
On Thursday it was announced that two women were arrested in Panamanian territory.
On Friday the First Prosecutor’s Office against Organized Crime and the National Police reported a third capture In the “Luz de Esperanza” (Light of Hope)– an operation s carried out simultaneously by authorities from Costa Rica and Panama – nine minors aged 4 to 12 were rescued.
A man allegedly involved in the network was arrested in Costa Rica.
“We strongly condemn child sexual exploitation and urge the authorities to take urgent measures to prevent these crimes, to support the recovery of the victims and to bring those involved to the full weight of justice,” said, a statement, by the United Foundation for Children.
