Independent Deputy harangues  security minister on crime rate

Independent deputy, Juan Diego Vásquez, attacked the Minister of Security, Juan Manuel Pino, by questioning him about the budget of the security forces, which increases every year, without the effect of these resources being reflected in the decrease in crime and homicide rate in the country.

“If we are going to respect each other, we are going to respect each other and we are going to talk about what I dream of… a Panama where there is no femicide; where domestic and gender-based violence decreases and does not increase, but that is not happening in two or three years that your government has been in office and you as minister… So where is the problem… it will be the minister,” Vásquez asserted.

The ire of the independent deputy was aroused reports TVN when the Budget committee of the National Assembly approved three additional credits for $7.3 million, for the payment of suppliers, purchases of vehicles and fuel for the public force.
