Green alert for the weekend
The national director of Civil Protection Carlos Rumbo reported that a green alert has been decreed from Friday to Monday, November 7
The areas within the alert are mainly the provinces of Chiriquí, Veraguas, Herrera, Los Santos, Coclé, Colón, Panamá Oeste, and Panamá.
The main recommendation for the general population is not to go to beaches or rivers so as not to expose themselves and avoid places where dangerous situations may occur.
The director stressed that, on Thursday, a person lost his life in Veraguas when he tried to cross a river and was dragged by a head of water. He stressed the importance of being aware that we are in the rainy season and that the hurricane season ends on November 30, but heavy rains are expected.
