Rain alert as transition to dry season extends
The National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) issued on Sunday, January 8, a new prevention notice for rain and electric storms until January 11.
The areas that will be most affected are Bocas del Toro, Colón, Veraguas, Chiriquí, Darién, and Panama. Also from the Ngäbe Buglé and Guna Yala regions, Sinaproc said in a statement.
According to the Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology of Panama, the transition from the rainy to dry season “has been extended.”
These rains occur when Panama is having a long weekend due to the holiday of January 9 for national mourning.
