ATTT Reminds Drivers of a $300 Fine for Using Parking Spaces for People with Disabilities
The Transit and Land Transportation Authority (ATTT) is conducting nationwide verification operations to detect the misuse of parking spaces reserved for people with disabilities. The director of the ATTT, Nicolás Brea, reiterated that drivers who commit this offense are subject to a fine of $300. The operations seek to verify that the properly marked spaces are used exclusively by the people who have the right to these parking spaces, as part of the actions to guarantee respect for traffic regulations and accessibility.
The ATTT reported that the inspections will be carried out at different points throughout the country with the aim of identifying those who misuse these spaces. The agency reminds drivers of the importance of respecting parking spaces designated for people with disabilities and avoiding penalties for non-compliance with current regulations.
Digital License 2026: Requirements and How to Apply in Panama
The Land Transit and Transportation Authority (ATTT) will enable the digital driver’s license in the coming days, after completing the training of its inspectors, the technological verification of the system and the validation of the cybersecurity protocols. The director of the ATTT, Nicolás Brea, indicated that in order to finalize the issuance of the digital document, the corresponding legal procedures will be completed.
Requirements to Apply for and Use the Digital License:
- Have a valid physical driver’s license.
- Be in good standing with the ATTT.
- Complete the registration on the official platform listed below.
