Presidential Elections in Venezuela Called for by Edmundo González Urrutia
Venezuelan opposition leader and winner of the July 28, 2024 presidential elections, Edmundo González Urrutia, called for new elections to be held in Venezuela. “To date, I am the last elected president of Venezuela,” stated González Urrutia, noting that Venezuelans demonstrated their desire for political change on that election day. “Venezuelans chose democracy, institutions, freedom, and a future with dignity that day,” he affirmed.
