In the Case of Former Mayor Alex Lee: Balbina Herrera Denounces the Media Spectacle
Balbina Herrera stated that there are more than one hundred authorities, both elected and unelected, who have been under investigation.
Balbina Herrera, leader of the Democratic Revolutionary Party (PRD), was present this Thursday at the facilities of the Accusatory Penal System (SPA) in the city of Colón to follow up on the embezzlement case against several members of this group, who are and were authorities in the district of Colón. In this case, Alex Lee pictured below, former mayor of Colón; Marta Macías, former representative of Barrio Sur; the former treasurers of the community boards of Barrio Norte and Sur; and Javier Lynch, representative of the corregimiento of Barrio Norte, appeared.

When asked if this was a persecution against members of the PRD, Herrera stated that there are more than one hundred authorities, both elected and unelected, who have been under investigation. “Nobody is saying not to investigate, but we don’t want a spectacle to be made out of it on social media,” she said. She indicated that, regarding the guilt of the individuals, “all I want to say is that all the information is being gathered. There are more than 100 PRD officials involved, and all of them have been subjected to this type of investigation
