A Panama Music Teacher and Sexual Predator is Captured

He offered minors money to obtain videos and photos with explicit sexual content. According to the Public Ministry’s records, in 2026, 5,833 complaints were filed for rape and other sexual offenses nationwide.

In a resounding ruling, the Sexual Freedom and Integrity Crimes Section of the San Miguelito Regional Prosecutor’s Office obtained a 20-year prison sentence for a former music teacher.  The court found him guilty of the crimes of corruption of minors and commercial sexual exploitation, after proving his guilt in sustained assaults against a 13-year-old boy, who was his student at the time of the events.  The judicial investigation revealed that the now-convicted man exploited his academic position to establish a scheme of abuse during August 2025. According to the case file, the man made cash payments to the victim in exchange for sexually explicit videos and photographs.

This scheme of recruitment and exploitation was dismantled thanks to the intervention of the Attorney General’s Office and the presentation of irrefutable digital evidence.  Following the reading of the sentence, it was confirmed that the former teacher must serve his full sentence in a penitentiary, in addition to being prohibited from holding any public or private office related to the education of minors. This judicial decision seeks to redress the harm caused to the victim and send a message of zero tolerance for crimes that threaten the comprehensive development and safety of children in the country.
