Panama Criminals Rob a Local Bus and Regular Passengers are Worried

Several armed men assaulted the driver and also threatened and robbed the passengers, taking their belongings. These types of buses have a capacity of 75 people.

An express bus on the  Colón-Panama route  was robbed  at  the end of this week on the grounds of the transportation terminal in the city of Colón.  The incident, which was reported on Thursday night of this week, occurred after the driver arrived from his last ride at about 8:30 pm in the area of the bus terminal in the city of Colón.  After dropping off the last passenger at the terminal, the driver and his assistant headed to the back of the terminal, where there is a car wash to clean the bus.

Once there, they were attacked by several armed criminals, who hit those on the bus with the butt of their weapons and robbed them of the day’s takings.  These types of buses have a capacity of 75 people and had already made four trips.  This also raises concerns among users about being victims of robberies by thieves who in previous years have posed as passengers, both departing from the Albrook terminal in Panama City and from the transport terminal in the city of Colón.
