Panama President Mulino Supports Jorge Herrera’s Election and Reiterates Respect for the Separation of Powers
The second legislature was installed in the National Assembly, and the president will subsequently address the nation.

The President of the Republic, José Raúl Mulino, arrived at the Legislative Palace just after 4:30 p.m. on July 1, 2025, where he delivered a message to the nation. Mulino described Herrera’s appointment as an expression of democratic will and took the opportunity to call on all representatives, from all political parties, to work together and respectfully to promote laws that benefit the population. President Mulino congratulated Jorge Herrera, who was elected as the new President of the National Assembly.
