Deputy Comptroller Oversees Audit at Panama Ports
Unlike other administrative procedures, audits cannot be subject to a completion date, since their duration depends on the complexity of each case and the very nature of these investigations.

Deputy Comptroller Elí Felipe Cabezas visited the facilities of Panama Ports Company (PPC) in the company of Amado Barahona, advisor and Head of Inspection of the General Directorate of Revenue (DGI), in order to complement the audit work carried out by the institution. The purpose of the audits is to assess the proper administration of public resources and verify compliance with the terms of the concessions.

This includes the submission of adequate financial reports and the payment of the corresponding sums to the State for the administration of the ports of Balboa and Cristóbal. Unlike other administrative procedures, audits cannot be subject to a completion date, since their duration depends on the complexity of each case and the very nature of these investigations requires a thorough analysis of the documentation, interviews and field verifications , which can extend the time required to reach precise conclusions, the Comptroller’s Office highlights.
