Peasant Week Ended With Luxury and Splendor

After a week honoring the men and women of the Panamanian countryside, the Nicanor Villalaz School of La Villa de Los Santos closed the Farmer’s Week with a flourish with the traditional Cart Parade through the streets of the town.  Since 1953, Panama has celebrated Peasant Week in various educational centers across the country with the aim of exalting artistic, folkloric and cultural values ​​related to life in the countryside.  On Tuesday and Wednesday, drum rallies were held in the school hallways. The crowning of the queen took place on Thursday in an event full of folkloric activities. On Friday, the students enjoyed a Mañanita Criolla, where they brought typical dishes to taste, and in the afternoon, large drum rallies toured the streets of La Villa.
