New Cancer Treatments to be Discussed in Panama
Research and the challenge of treating cancer and genetic diseases is the topic that Panamanian and international medical professionals will discuss at the Third Medical Congress in the City of Health.
Under the motto: “Cancer, Genetics and More”, the Social Security Fund will hold this congress focused on the analysis and discussion of advances in cancer and genetics in the adult and pediatric population. Cancer is the leading cause of death in Panama and more than 3,000 new cases are reported annually. Specialists from the region will meet at the City of Health. “The Medical Congress has established itself as one of the most important meetings in the region, with the participation of more than 600 specialist physicians, primary care physicians, residents and interns,” said Dr. Arón Benzadón Cohen, Deputy Director of Teaching and Research at Ciudad de la Salud. The topic will be discussed from the perspective of prevention, primary care, specialized approaches and specific targeted therapies.
The Medical Congress will take place in the Ciudad de la Salud auditoriums from August 28 to 31 and will bring together prominent national and international speakers. This event, which has been held for 63 consecutive years, is distinguished by offering a space for free medical updates for health professionals from all over the country.
