Costa Rican President Arrives in Panama Thursday to Meet with Mulino
The President of Costa Rica, Rodrigo Chaves, will arrive in Panama this Thursday, August 22, to meet with the President of the Republic, José Raúl Mulino. Chaves is the first president invited by Mulino for a state meeting.
Upon arrival, President Chaves and his delegation will be received by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and on Friday, a meeting with President Mulino will take place at the Palacio de Las Garzas. There is a broad agenda that unites both countries, such as migration, agriculture, and cargo transportation, among others.
In October of last year, the Costa Rican president made an official visit to the country to analyze the crisis of irregular migration through the Darién. Also last July, Chaves attended Mulino’s inauguration ceremony as president of Panama.
