Stolen Cars are being sold in Panama through social networks. National Police recovered more than 10 vehicles after reports of theft. These cars, according to police, were being advertised for sale through social networks with alterations to the chassis, engine and documents to try to evade the authorities. The National Police urge online car buyers: to beware of below-market cost prices; the offer to sell vehicles without papers, as well as accepting an offer to make the direct transfer without the presence of the buyer. Also be wary of an insistent buyer who wants to make a sale using fake social media profiles. Before making a transaction the buyer should seek guidance from police or a proper car dealer, as the unsuspecting buyer could be dealing with a scam that may end up being the beginning of a legal process.
