Intensity of Wednesday’s earthquake downgraded
The Institute of Geosciences of the University of Panama corrected the intensity of the earthquake that was felt in the provinces of Panama, Panama West, and Coclé on the morning of this Wednesday, July 19.
The first reports indicated that the tremor at 3:38 am this Wednesday had a magnitude of 3.9, but it was later revised to 3.7. The staff of the Institute of Geosciences of the University of Panama also corrected the depth of the quake, first establishing that it was five kilometers, but four hours later they fixed it at eight kilometers.
The tremor was located six kilometers from the district of Arraiján, in the province of Panama Oeste, but was felt in the districts of Panama and San Miguelito and in some Coclé areas.
