Reconstruction of accident that killed 39

The reconstruction procedures for the vehicle accident registered on February 15 in Los Planes de Gualaca, where 39 people died began on Monday, July 3. Thirty-seven were irregular migrants of various nationalities and two were Panamanians.

According to prosecutor Kaira Kan, the proceedings were carried out in the company of some victims and witnesses who remain in the country.

Janette Vásquez Delgado, the lawyer for some relatives and victims of the accident, pointed out that the main objective of the proceedings is to recreate everything that happened in that tragic event. The expert Teófilo Moreno said that the different statements that remain in the file and those that can be taken at the scene of the events will be taken into account, in addition to the complete analysis of the road configuration.
