Year’s first tropical wave arrives in Panama
Monday, May 29 to Wednesday, May 31, reports the Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Imhpa). According to Imhpa’s analysis, the tropical wave will generate rain and storms until 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday.
The entity’s report indicated that a greater frequency of rains of varied intensity and “occasionally strong” storms with electrical activity and potential gusts of winds are expected in various sectors of the country. These storms, according to Imhpa, occur due to the influence of a trough axis and the passage of the first tropical wave. The areas that are under a warning are Darién, Panamá Oeste, Colón, Coclé, Los Santos, Chiriquí, Bocas del Toro, Herrera, and the Ngäbe-Buglé and Guna Yala regions.
