Controls strengthened for adventure tourism

 

The Regional Director of the Ministry of the Environment, in the province of Chiriquí, Krislly Quintero, reported that controls and personnel have been increased in the protected areas of Tierras Altas and Tierras Bajas, to allow adventure tourism to take place. adventure safely, during the long weekend for Labor Day.

Quintero assured that there has been an increase in the number of these tourists, especially nationals, who wish to carry out this type of adventure tourism in areas of the Barú Volcano National Park, La Amistad International Park, and the top of the Barú volcano.

He highlighted that some reinforcements have been established by the joint task force, headed by the National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) and security agencies, which, in coordination with MiAmbiente officials, are reinforcing controls and security measures.
