Rescue team returned from Turkey

The group of 20 Panamanian rescuers from the Joint Task Force (FCT) that provided support in the search for survivors after the earthquake in Turkey returned to the country on Friday night, February 24.

These Panamanians worked in the province of CahRamanMaras, located in the southeast and one of the most affected by the earthquake on February 6 in Turkey. Then they were in the province of Hatay, to continue the rescue work.

The First Lady Yazmín de Cortizo, and the Minister of Government, Roger Tejada, received the Panamanian rescuers at the Tocumen International Airport.

In an act at the air terminal, Panamanians were given plaques of recognition for the humanitarian work carried out in Turkey.

The USAR Panama team (Urban Search and Rescue), specialized in light structures and which was also made up of two guides and two dogs specialized in searching for people in collapsed structures, had as its main mission the saving of lives of through searching for people in collapsed structures.
