Calls for extreme security as strong waves threaten
The National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc), in the province of Chiriquí, has asked artisanal fishermen to take extreme security measures in the face of the strong waves that will be recorded until February 3.
Armando Palacios, director of Sinaproc in Chiriquí, stated that they constantly monitor strong waves and breezes, as well as compliance with the use of life jackets, rescue equipment, and communication at the time of sailing.
They also recommend that permanent checks be made on the motors of the boats, as well as the safety equipment. The warning was also extended to people who go to the beaches of the province of Chiriquí so that they are attentive to the alerts issued by the authorities, and to monitor minors.
