Nine companies seek contract to maintain Panama streets

Nine companies are interested in bidding for the contract for patching the streets in the districts of Panama and San Miguelito whose condition is the source of one of the main complaints on social networks.

The contract is for 365 days and the MOP set the reference price at $5 million.

The proposal date is set for December 15 and companies must demonstrate that they have the financing capacity to cover 50% of the cost of the project.

The contract is additional to the four that were tendered under the turnkey scheme that covers 65 kilometers of streets in 12 corregimientos of the district of Panama for a combined amount of  $78.8 million.
