Carnivals could be back next year

After two years of the COVID-19 pandemic, Panama could celebrate carnivals next year 2023 reports TVN.

“We aspire to have peaceful national holidays and enjoy the parades that we miss so much (…) Cases may increase, but that will be normal,” said Health Minister Luis Francisco Sucre.

According to Sucre, it will be up to a technical commission to present the results of the evaluation to the President, Laurentino Cortizo, and the president would be responsible for deciding.

A total of 3,641 new cases of covid-19 were confirmed by the Ministry of Health for the week of August 28 to September 3.
